R+D

As a company with wide experience in the design, construction and maintenance of railway systems, Patentes Talgo S.L. has a serious commitment to research, development and innovation within its strategic plan, since it considers these to be the basic concepts for developing new products, along with competitive and innovative solutions.

The reference framework for its R+D+I activities may be defined through the following strategic lines:

	Designing and developing innovative products that provide Patentes Talgo, S.L. with a sustained growth in the future.
	Favouring the protection policy for the results obtained from the R+D+i activities.
	Promoting the innovation culture within the organisation, encouraging the establishment of a participative environment.
	Performing strategic alliances with organisations of interest to face up to new challenges that allow innovative products to be developed.

Over the past few years, Patentes Talgo, S.L has made an important innovative effort to successfully incorporate its own traction to Talgo products. The new Traction department in R+D+I designs and develops the integration of the train’s traction chain using the latest technologies in terms of energy efficiency and reliability. Thanks to this effort, Patentes Talgo is now a train supplier with its own capacities in all the areas of vehicle design, manufacturing and maintenance. 

Patentes Talgo SL has implanted and maintains a Management system of the R+D+i according to the requirements set forth in the UNE 166002:2006 standard.
