Talgo registers historical highs of 293 million euros of revenues until June driven by increased industrial activity

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a record revenue of 293.3 million euros in the first half of 2021, up by 35% compared to the 216.6 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. This revenues increase was driven by a strong manufacturing activity, led by the Spanish High-Speed project (Renfe Avril). In quarterly terms, Talgo obtained revenues of 146.2 million euros, in line with the 147.1 million euros obtained in the previous quarter.

Talgo secures 281.5 million-euro contract with Renfe

Renfe has awarded Talgo the manufacture of up to 40 new variable gauge and 330 km/h commercial speed powerheads (locomotives), for a maximum amount of 281.5 million euros, with a contract for 26 powerheads for 195.5 million euros, as the last step in transforming 13 conventional trains into very high-speed trains.

The increase in revenue is driven by a higher activity in manufacturing projects, mainly in the Spanish High-Speed project (Renfe Avril), which consolidates the expected revenue growth cycle. Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a net turnover of 487,1 million euros in 2020, 21,3% more than the 401.7 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. Likewise, revenues were up by 20.3% during the fourth quarter of 2020, compared with previous quarter. Talgo increased revenue by 23.2% to September as a result of greater industrial activity

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a net turnover of 339.4 million euros in the first nine months of 2020, 23.2% more than the 275.5 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. Likewise, revenues were up by 18% during the third quarter of 2020, compared with last quarter. Russian railway operator RZD extends Talgo services to its most popular routes

The Russian railway operator RZD (Rossiyskie Zheleznye Dorogi) has entrusted Talgo with new services as it will use Talgo compositions to expand the capacity of one of its most popular passenger routes, connecting the country's two main cities: Moscow and St. Petersburg. Talgo, desde la planta de Rivabellosa, fabrica trenes con sello alavés que exporta a todos los rincones del mundo y que le sitúan a la vanguardia en materia de movilidad ferroviaria. De hecho, esta factoría es la mayor de todas las plantas de Talgo con más de 40.000 metros cuadrados y supone, por lo tanto, un agente clave para los proyectos de la compañía y para su expansión internacional.
