Talgo increases revenues by 33.5% up to September and improves its outlook for 2023

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a revenue of €470.3 m in the first nine months of 2023, up by 33.5% compared to the €352.2 m registered in the same period of the previous year. This revenue growth was mainly driven by the company’s increased manufacturing activity and contract extensions with European rail operators in Germany (DB) and Denmark (DSB). The project for the manufacturing and overhaul of trains for Renfe that will constitute the 107 series, as well as stable recurring revenues from maintenance services, further contributed to revenue growth up until September.

Al Premio Talgo a la Excelencia de la Mujer en la Ingeniería y el Premio Talgo a la Innovación Tecnológica, se le añade este año un nuevo galardón, el Premio Talgo a la Relevancia de la Mujer en la Formación Profesional, cuyo objetivo es incrementar la visibilidad de la mujer en la Formación Profesional.

Los trenes Talgo Avril podrán circular en servicio comercial en el mes de noviembre

Talgo pondrá a disposición de Renfe en el mes de noviembre las primeras unidades del tren de muy alta velocidad Talgo Avril, listas para su operación comercial. Dicha fecha de noviembre se alcanzará siempre que los otros actores que participan en este proceso cumplan con los plazos que han facilitado a Talgo para alcanzar dicho objetivo y en virtud de los cuales Talgo propone esta fecha. La puesta en servicio de los 30 trenes de muy alta velocidad que forman la Serie 106 de Renfe será escalonada. Así se lo confirmó la dirección de Talgo a Renfe en la reunión que mantuvieron ayer.

Deutsche Bahn confirms Talgo the largest single order of its history: 56 new Talgo 230 trains worth approximately 1,400 million euros

German federal railway company Deutsche Bahn today announced an ambitious plan to expand its ICE high-speed train fleet, which will result in the largest train supply contract for Talgo in its over 80-year history: 56 new units worth approximately 1,400 million euros. This new order is part of the framework contract signed in 2019 along with a first order for 23 trains. Both orders will take the Talgo-made ICE L fleet to reach 79 units.

Talgo registered a revenue of €126.7 m in the first quarter of 2023, a 7% increase compared to the €118.4 m obtained in the same period of the previous year. This increase in revenues is driven by the company’s increased industrial activity and stable recurring revenues from maintenance services.

Denmark confirms its confidence in Talgo intercity trains in its drive to de-carbonize the transport system

State-owned railway company DSB (Danske Statsbaner) has placed an additional order with Talgo for the supply of 8 new Talgo 230 intercity trains, associated services and spare parts for their maintenance, subject to the corresponding approvals and the approval of the financing by the Danish parliament. This second order has a value of 184 million euros and confirms the confidence DSB has in the technology and reliability of Talgo trains, under an ambitious decarbonisation drive of the transport system in Denmark and only three years after awarding Talgo the framework contract.

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a revenue of €288.6 m in the first half of 2023, representing a 33% increase compared to the €217.7 m in the same period of the previous year. This revenue growth is mainly driven by the increase in manufacturing activity, a trend that is expected to continue in the coming years, as well as stable recurring revenues from maintenance services.

Talgo's ICE L for Deutsche Bahn begins testing in Germany

The first ICE L long-distance and high-speed train, manufactured by Talgo for Deutsche Bahn, has arrived this week in Germany, where certification tests will begin imminently with a view to its entry into service between Berlin and Amsterdam (Netherlands) at the end of 2024. This is the first of 79 units that Talgo will manufacture for the German operator, as part of a framework contract for 100 units and within the strict schedule agreed with the customer.

Talgo increases shareholder remuneration by 20% in 2023

Talgo will increase shareholder remuneration by 20% in 2023 through a flexible dividend and a new share buyback program, for a total amount of €12 m. This was confirmed at the General Shareholders’ Meeting held today at the company’s headquarters in Las Rozas (Madrid), where some of the industrial and operational milestones aimed at recovering net profit were also confirmed.

Talgo registered a revenue of 469.1 €m in 2022, a decrease of 15.5% compared to the 555.4 €m obtained in the previous year, mainly due to the current international context, marked by a peak in raw materials prices and disruptions in global supply chains and inflation.
