The first unit of the very high-speed train Talgo Avril began its first rail tests this week, a decisive step in the technical homologation, prior to its commercial circulation by Spanish operator Renfe. Talgo’s hydrogen train will be ready in 2023

Talgo announced today the timetable for the manufacture and launch of its hydrogen train, a green, innovative and efficient alternative to replacing diesel engines, which will be ready in 2023. The train will be named Talgo Vittal-One, as a reference to the place of the hydrogen in the periodic table, the first one. The details were presented during the event "Renewable hydrogen: an opportunity for Spain", organised by the Spanish Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic challenge.

Danish operator DSB increases the capacity of Talgo trains for international travel by 10%

The Danish operator DSB announced the decision to increase by more than 10% the capacity of the eight Talgo Intercity trains ordered to the manufacturer in February 2020. From a capacity of 442 seats in the initial order, DSB has decided to increase the number of carriages and the trains' capacity to 492 seats. Following the contract award, the Danish operator had kept the option to place further orders for additional units, either entire configurations or individual carriages.

Talgo registers historical highs of 293 million euros of revenues until June driven by increased industrial activity

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a record revenue of 293.3 million euros in the first half of 2021, up by 35% compared to the 216.6 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. This revenues increase was driven by a strong manufacturing activity, led by the Spanish High-Speed project (Renfe Avril). In quarterly terms, Talgo obtained revenues of 146.2 million euros, in line with the 147.1 million euros obtained in the previous quarter.

Repsol and Talgo to jointly develop a renewable hydrogen-powered train

Repsol and Talgo will jointly develop projects to promote the creation of renewable hydrogen-powered trains and promote emission-free rail transport in the Iberian Peninsula. Talgo increased revenue by 21,3% and obtained 487 million euros in 2020

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a net turnover of 487,1 million euros in 2020, 21,3% more than the 401.7 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. Likewise, revenues were up by 20.3% during the fourth quarter of 2020, compared with previous quarter. Revenue growth was driven by an increase in industrial activity, as a result of the successful operational measures implemented to normalize the manufacturing pace.

Talgo, desde la planta de Rivabellosa, fabrica trenes con sello alavés que exporta a todos los rincones del mundo y que le sitúan a la vanguardia en materia de movilidad ferroviaria. De hecho, esta factoría es la mayor de todas las plantas de Talgo con más de 40.000 metros cuadrados y supone, por lo tanto, un agente clave para los proyectos de la compañía y para su expansión internacional.
