Talgo registers historical highs of 293 million euros of revenues until June driven by increased industrial activity

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a record revenue of 293.3 million euros in the first half of 2021, up by 35% compared to the 216.6 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. This revenues increase was driven by a strong manufacturing activity, led by the Spanish High-Speed project (Renfe Avril). In quarterly terms, Talgo obtained revenues of 146.2 million euros, in line with the 147.1 million euros obtained in the previous quarter.

Talgo secures 281.5 million-euro contract with Renfe

Renfe has awarded Talgo the manufacture of up to 40 new variable gauge and 330 km/h commercial speed powerheads (locomotives), for a maximum amount of 281.5 million euros, with a contract for 26 powerheads for 195.5 million euros, as the last step in transforming 13 conventional trains into very high-speed trains.

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a revenue of 147.1 million euros in the first quarter of 2021. The increase in revenue is driven by a higher activity in manufacturing projects, mainly in the Spanish High-Speed project (Renfe Avril), which consolidates the expected revenue growth cycle. Meanwhile, net profit reached 6.4 million euros in the first quarter of 2021.

Talgo S.A., a leading company in the design, manufacture and maintenance of high-speed light trains, registered a net turnover of 487,1 million euros in 2020, 21,3% more than the 401.7 million euros registered in the same period of the previous year. Likewise, revenues were up by 20.3% during the fourth quarter of 2020, compared with previous quarter. Revenue growth was driven by an increase in industrial activity, as a result of the successful operational measures implemented to normalize the manufacturing pace.

Repsol and Talgo to jointly develop a renewable hydrogen-powered train

Repsol and Talgo will jointly develop projects to promote the creation of renewable hydrogen-powered trains and promote emission-free rail transport in the Iberian Peninsula. The agreement, signed today at the train manufacturer’s plant in Las Rozas (Madrid) has been signed by Repsol's executive director of Industrial Transformation and Circular Economy, Juan Abascal and the Chairman of Talgo, Carlos Palacio Oriol. Talgo Avril exceeds 360 km/h between Valladolid and Burgos

Danish operator DSB increases the capacity of Talgo trains for international travel by 10%

The Danish operator DSB announced the decision to increase by more than 10% the capacity of the eight Talgo Intercity trains ordered to the manufacturer in February 2020. From a capacity of 442 seats in the initial order, DSB has decided to increase the number of carriages and the trains' capacity to 492 seats. Following the contract award, the Danish operator had kept the option to place further orders for additional units, either entire configurations or individual carriages.
