Environmental Actions and Contributions

Talgo makes the management of environmental protection and improvement a key priority in its corporate strategies.

Return

Talgo’s environmental sustainability strategy is based on four main pillars:

  • Alignment with the European Green Pact to achieve climate neutrality by 2050 at national and international levels, with actions to reduce emissions from production processes, products throughout their lifecycle, and their supply chain.
  • Develop a circular economy model throughout the organization and its activities. To this end, we implement sustainable design in our products and improve the environmental performance of our processes with actions aimed at achieving zero waste, guaranteeing the recovery and use of waste generated during the activity through recycling, reuse or energy recovery.
  • Align with the Sustainable Development Goals by linking the organization’s design, manufacturing, and maintenance processes and activities to the environmental sustainability goals they encompass.
  • Transparency of our environmental management system in relation to our stakeholders. ISO 14001 certification, which Talgo has held since 2002, demonstrates the company’s commitment to complying with legislation, preventing pollution, minimizing environmental impact and setting environmental objectives that promote continuous improvement of our processes.

In addition to strict compliance with laws, standards and requirements, Talgo promotes total transparency in communicating its environmental performance and impact, as evidenced by the publication of the Environmental Product Declaration for its Talgo AVRIL platform.

Environmental policy

Talgo’s environmental policy reflects the company’s commitment to the environment and future generations and promotes the minimization of environmental impact in all its operations and throughout the life cycle of its products.

Environmental Management System and ISO 14001 certification

To minimize the impact of its activities on the planet, Talgo has had a solid and consolidated environmental management system in place since 2002, in compliance with ISO 14001.

With this system, Talgo ensures its commitment to the environment from a life-cycle perspective, considering all the processes and activities carried out in the different work centers. The implications of the system include compliance with legislation, prevention of pollution, minimization of environmental impact and the setting of objectives that promote continuous improvement of processes and activities on an annual basis.
