New appointments in Talgo

- The former CEO of the Company, José María de Oriol Fabra, has been appointed as non-executive Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors.
- Gonzalo Urquijo Fernández de Araoz, new Chief Executive Officer of Talgo. The new CEO will continue driving the current growth strategy, enhancing the internationalisation and diversification of the company.
Talgo has appointed Gonzalo Urquijo Fernández de Araoz as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. Gonzalo Urquijo will assume the post as of today and will work with the objective of continuing to enhance the current strategy of growth through internationalisation and diversification of the company.
Gonzalo Urquijo initiated his professional career in the banking sector, at Citibank and Credit Agricole, developing his professional activity in the steel sector. He has been Chief Financial Officer of Aceralia and subsidiaries, General Director of the Arcelor Group, as well as Chairman of ArcelorMittal Spain and a member of the general management of Arcelor Mittal. He has been Executive Chairman of Abengoa.
The new CEO replaces José María Oriol, who from today will take up the position of non-executive Vice-Chairman of Talgo’s Board of Directors. As Vice-Chairman of the Board, José María Oriol will continue his involvement in Talgo, providing his knowledge and valuable experience as the company’s CEO over the past 18 years.
