Talgo is a comprehensive maintenance services and rolling stock refurbishment provider with over 65 years of experience and an international presence. Talgo's maintenance centres are staffed by highly-qualified professionals who specialise in comprehensive maintenance. We provide maintenance for over 2500 vehicles all over the world, which travel approximately 950 million kilometres every year.

Our experience is based on a self-created model in which Talgo is always responsible for the maintenance of the rolling stock it manufactures. In this way, constant improvement is guaranteed through a virtuous cycle, which encourages feedback from specific experiences in order to develop new engineering solutions.

Casandra

The Casandra system is a computerised data processing system wholly developed by Talgo for the management of its maintenance systems.

The on-board system collects all data regarding reliability, safety and maintenance, and automatically generates graphs and reports to serve as the basis for system feedback. From this data, we can create complete action plans that will optimise maintenance procedures.

Fleet management

It is essential to foresee and react to possible system failures and loss of functionality. Information supplied by intelligent systems on-board the train and on gauge changeover facilities achieves this by offering a real-time understanding of how certain equipment is performing.

If the system registers a potential failure, it immediately sends a notification to the technician's mobile phone or email, which significantly reduces the response time to an incident.

SAP Module

For commercial services and maintenance management, we use the module created by SAP for the railway sector. This includes a specific application for maintenance planning, control and management.

Wheel parameter diagnosis - SICOR

We use the SICOR system which collects advanced statistical data on the wear state, life-cycle and evolution of wheel parameters.

ThE SICOR system feeds this information into a database and is used analyse wear patterns and the behaviour of the wheel. With this data, we draft action plans and corrective measures to optimise safety, reliability, and ultimately, the comfort of our trains.
